Quniana Futrell
Founder/
Executive Director
I, Quniana Futrell, am a New Jersey native and now reside in Portsmouth, Virginia with my supportive husband and three children. I want to live in a world where healthy parents and teachers work together to produce healthy children. I am the daughter of two previously incarcerated parents which is my fuel for serving others. As a strong advocate for children in their early years, I believe in what Rita Pierson says, "Every child deserves a champion — an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can be.” I consider myself to be a champion for children and families! Currently, I am a published author and released my first children’s book, Our Moms, in November, 2015. Our Moms is a conversation starter for adults working or living with children that have a parent incarcerated.
CEO
Alton Futrell
I, Alton Futrell, am a Virginia native who loves my wife and three children. Every since before I could remember I have had a passion for helping people. I have attempted several tries at what I wanted to do with my life, and have found giving back to my community the most rewarding. I believe in what the great Frederick Douglas said, "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." Currently, I am pursing my bachelors degree in Psychology.
Our Vision
We want to restore hope to the incarcerated communities. Many communities have experienced so much turmoil and we want to bring hope back into broken families. We want to show them that no one is perfect and if we all work together, we can do great things to change the next generation of leaders!
Our Mission
Our mission is restore hope into families impacted by incarceration.
